The benefits of daily push ups include building up your upper body strength and defining more your muscles, especially your chest. It can also help you build up resistance in your shoulders, which helps towards other exercises you might want to achieve. It’s important to remember that push ups have many variations and they all work different muscles, although they all focus on your upper body.
Every exercise has risks, and although for push ups injuries aren’t as common, it doesn’t mean you can’t get injured doing push ups. Doing daily push ups can cause wrist pain, lower back pain and elbow pain. You can injure your elbows and wrists if you don’t do the push up correctly, and although this might sound impossible, remember that the different variations of push ups also include different levels of difficulty. This is where the risk of injuries becomes greater, when you are doing push up variations with a high level of difficulty.
The best way to minimize the risks is to learn to do push ups correctly (this includes all the variations you want to try). And although doing daily push ups does have its benefits, if you want to improve your overall health, it is better to do varied exercises in your workouts, and not just push ups! If you are working out in a gym remember to be safe. One way to make sure you are covered and protected is to wear products that will help you stay safe, such as Bear Grips Shield Gloves, which are full finger workout gloves, so you no longer expose your hands to touching any surfaces. The touchscreen tips let you play your music and touch cardio screens. And don’t forget to wear a flexible breathable workout mask!
